Recycling

We are an environmental charity. Redistributing food waste is our number one concern but we are very aware that with food waste comes packaging. We already recycle our cardboard and reuse glass jars but there is still so much we could do to fight the serious problem of plastic packaging. For that reason we have formed a partnership with OSO Polymers, and TRJFP is now collecting both LDPE & HDPE plastics for recycling and re-use purposes. The Real Junk Food Project (TRJFP) is proud to be working alongside Tong Shen , Carol Cox , Helen Rhodes and their team in reducing and recycling single use plastics across the U.K.

What can we recycle?

  • Plastic bags
  • Bubble wrap
  • Mesh
  • Shrink Wrap and films
  • Foam
  • *Bottles, plastic cups and plastic containers
  • *Coat hangers, Correx, CD cases and plastic utensils

*Please note that these plastics must be placed in the ‘trolley’ -see our recycling poster fur further information. If unsure whether to place your plastic in the ‘sack’ or the ‘trolley’, please ask one of our lovely volunteers.

We DO NOT take polystyrene cups and packings nor crisp packets and wrappers. Please do not bring them down to our collection points as we will refuse to take it.

How can I recycle?

Take your plastics along to one of our collection points. These can be found at our Kindness Sharehouses in Wakefield and Doncaster.

Are you allowed to take my recycling?

Yes we are! Have a look at our official certificate below. We are a waste carrier and dealer and we are proud to work with the Environment Agency to further realise our objectives to spread kindness and continue to be an ever evolving environmental charity.
